Metrikottar Chhatravritti

The operation named Metrikottar Chhatravritti is maintained by the DeitY, MoCIT, National Informatics Centre and Indian Government. Other than this the operation is has been under the workings of National E-Governance Plan.

The main objective of this scheme is to provide scholarship to the tribal students, schedule caste, schedule tribes and people belonging to other backward classes. The plan helps the students of these communities to take advance education.

Evolution of Scheme

The existence of this scheme and successful implementation of this scheme is the work of Tribal Welfare Department.

Tribal Welfare Department

The Tribal Welfare Department of the individual state is supported by the ministry of Tribal Affairs for its development. The department holds the responsibility of advancement and progress of people belonging to the backward class of the country majorly comprising of Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes despite of the feebleness of these communities.


The major reason behind the implementation and existence of this scheme is to give scholarship to the students who form the part of Schedule Cast, Schedule Tribe or the other backward class communities. This scheme helps in the students of these communities for taking further education in higher secondary schools, graduation or the post-graduation courses. With the advance educational degrees the students of these communities can support in the betterment of their respective classes.


The plan has been operational by the State Governor, the Gram Panchayat and the District Panchayat. The plan can also be implemented either by the Principal of any institute, District Collector or the District Organizer.
